FUSION: EXPLORING GOD’S WORD
Now that summer vacation is wrapping up and we are getting back to our
regular schedules, we are looking forward to a new program on Wednesday
evenings in addition to our Wednesday classes.
FUSION is F.U.M.C.'s new arts ministry for children, youth, and
adults. Using drama, dance, contemporary music, and more,
FUSION will allow us to explore worship in new and exciting ways, while
incorporating discipleship and fellowship. This program is geared toward
beginners and will take place after the Wednesday fellowship dinners at the
same time as our regular classes.
NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY and everyone is
welcome--regardless of our talent or creative ability, God loves our
worship!!! If you would like to find out more information or if God has put
leadership in this ministry on your heart, please contact Jill
jill@fumcgnv.org
or Rachael
rjordan@fumcgnv.org.
More information will be included in the September issue of the Messenger.

Sept 8 (Wednesday)
― Wednesday Night Supper,
5:30pm Fellowship Hall |
|
Classes Peggy Halsey will describe “The Connectional Genius of United
Methodist Giving,” lead by Peggy Halsey. Like most Christians, we United
Methodists are generous
people. But unlike many, our denomination provides a unique mechanism that
multiplies
our giving far beyond anything we could do individually or as a single
congregation. This
Wednesday evening session will be an overview of this important feature of
United Methodism,
which allows us to have a significant ministry and mission presence both
near and far. We will
learn how the gifts we put in offering plates and pledge envelopes not
only support this local
church and its ministries, but connect us to regional, national and global
outreach efforts. The
special focus will be on how our apportionments, as well as our gifts on
Special Sundays and
donations to UMCOR, are channeled, distributed and used. Bring all those
questions you have
wondered about, and we will try to find answers together.

Wednesdays
― Yoga at FUMC, 12:00n |
 |
|
Something new is going on Wednesdays at noon in
the Bethany Room…it's Yoga at FUMC! Feeling
tired? Out of breath? Feeling a bit stiff or finding it harder to get around
lately? Are you looking to get some exercise back into your day? Yoga can
help with all of these things. Yoga is a system that coordinates specific
breathing technique with a sequence of movements. Over time, a regular yoga
practice can improve range of motion and strengthen muscles. Yoga is
particularly good for helping to evenly strengthen the small muscles around
the knees, ankles, and shoulders, making everyday movements more
comfortable. Regular practice of the breathing technique used in yoga can
increase lung capacity and, by bringing in more oxygen with each breath, it
can increase energy levels. If any of these sound like benefits you could
use, come try a class! Yoga at FUMC is a gentle class for anyone. Everything
we do can be modified or left out to accommodate anyone's situation. The
yoga class at FUMC is open to anyone and meets Wednesdays from noon to 1 pm
in the Bethany Room.
Have questions? Feel free to give me a
call or send an email. I'd love to answer your questions and tell you more
about the class.
Contact me at: (352) 215-0130 or Email at:
hibiscus102@gmail.com
See you in class!
