Worship with Us

Worship brings us together in community to share our praise and gratitude, our hopes and fears, and our joys and concerns with our loving God. We worship in a traditional style with a "creative twist" incorporating ancient and modern creeds as well as many styles of music from classic hymns, to blues and jazz, to Mozart and Handel, and everything in between. We pray that worshiping with us will be an experience that uplifts, challenges, comforts, and surprises all who participate, through the life-giving grace of Jesus Christ.

First United Methodist Church of Gainesville offers a traditional service every Sunday morning in our Sanctuary at 10:30 a.m. and live-streamed here on our web site and through our First UMC app . You can also watch the live-stream on our Facebook page and YouTube channel (with closed captioning), and you can watch any of our recent services below.  Communion is served  on the first Sunday of each month and our  Communion table is open to everyone regardless of where you may be in your faith journey or your church affiliation.

Children are always welcome when we worship in our Sanctuary! However, if desired, childcare for infants through pre-K is available during Sunday School through the conclusion of worship. For the older kids, (K-5th grade), we also have Kids Music and Sunday School from 9:15-10:15 a.m. and Children's Church during worship. Youth in 5th-8th grade meet in the Epworth Cafe at 9:15 a.m. for fun, food, and growing in their faith!
